Biography/Description

Having trained in Jewellery design at Glasgow School of Art, (with a side serving of Embroidery & Weaving), Val employs a variety of techniques in her “multi-media meditations”.
With a jeweller’s eye for detail, her collages are inspired by the natural world utilising found objects, observational drawings and significant words.
Val has developed her own visual vocabulary blending handmade papers, stitchery, found objects, dyes, inks, (seldom paint !)
The end result invites the viewer to meditate on this combination of colour, texture & text.
