Nils Aksnes
Nils Aksnes is a photographic artist who uses pinhole cameras as a tool for close study of Argyll’s coastal landscape. Nils’ work explores environmental change and draws on found objects and natural materials.
Although they are very simple devices, pinhole cameras are capable of creating beautifully complex images. Nils plays with this simplicity by using unique combinations of masks, movement and multiple exposures to construct his multi-layered images.
Visitors to Nils’ studio this year can have a go at making their own pinhole photograph.
