Emma Wells
Inspired by Victorian intrigue and opulence, old photographs and ancestral memories, Emma creates atmospheric and romantic designs in kiln-fired glass; experimenting with unique techniques; layering designs and textures which culminate in ghostly visions and floating images with photographic plate-like qualities.Insect motifs features regularly in her work, symbolising the obsessive nature of the Victorian ‘collectors extraordinaire’. Her collection of decoratively functional ‘house jewellery’ evokes bygone days and faded grandeur.
